In what is now the icy Antarctic, once was a continent called Hyperborea, here peaceful beings descended from amphibians worshiped the mighty Great old one, Bokrug, the giant water lizard. As the ice spread and the human residents of Hyperborea were forced south they came in contact with these benign beings, but as so often happens, the humans tried to impose their ways and religion on these people, who refused and as result the humans wiped them out and stole their most sacred artifact a statue of Bokrug which the humans set in the main square of their great city of Sarnath,as a trophy. For one thousand years these people of Sarnath lived and forgot about those they had wronged in the past, until one night on the anniversary of the "conquest "of the people of Bokrug, Bokrug himself rose from his sacred lake and obliterated Sarnath so completely that no trace of the city remained.
